Online "Italian as a Foreign Language 1" Class for Teens (Spring 2026)

Online Italian class for High Schoolers (and Middle Schoolers) starting Feb 2026. Tuesdays 5–7pm Pacific on Google Meet. 15 classes. Certified program.

We are opening a new Online “Italian as a Foreign Language 1” class for High School students (we also accept Middle Schoolers) for Spring 2026.

Schedule: Tuesdays 5:00–7:00pm via Google Meet.

Dates: 15 classes from February 17 to June 2, 2026.

• Note: No class on April 07 (Spring Break).
• An additional cultural event will be scheduled based on availability of the students.

The Certified Program

This class is part of our Certified Program.

• No previous knowledge required. This course (“Italian as a Foreign Language 1”) is designed for beginners.
• Accredited: The Italian School of San Diego is accredited by San Diego Unified and San Dieguito districts as an “Independent World Language School” and follows a program approved by the districts. Classes can fulfill language requirements for high school graduation at public high schools in these districts and satisfy college admission requirements. Grades earned are added to the student’s high school transcript.
• Structure: Classes are taught by native instructors and follow a structured curriculum suitable for earning credit.

Note for Middle Schoolers regarding Credits

Grades are not registered on a high school transcript while in middle school. However, once students enter high school and complete a higher-level class (e.g., taking Italian 5-6 in 9th grade), they receive credit for the previous years of study. For example, completing Italian 5-6 grants 3 years of language education credit, satisfying the requirement even if only one year was effectively taken in high school. It is the level of the class that matters.

• Workload: Accredited classes require 2 hours of independent study/homework per week in addition to the class time.
• Grading: Students will join our Google Classroom, submit weekly homework for grading, and take tests. Final grades are based on homework, tests, and class participation.
